BOOK UPDATE: “Women’s Rights Without Feminism” by Zara Faris

As-Salaamu Alaikum everyone! I’ve received so many requests for an update on my upcoming book, “Women’s Rights Without Feminism”, which is named after my coined concept #womensrightswithoutfeminism. This book has been a few years in the making so far, so I thought it is time to share an update.

Alhamdulillah, the manuscript is coming along well and, with your continued duas, this will be completed soon (inshaAllah) and available for you to get hold of.

The book is detailed and in-depth, covering the central question of explaining and elaborating the rights for women from Islam, as derived from its creed (aqidah), method (shari’ah – or law, morality, and rights), and the effectiveness of its application (fiqh) in addressing problems. It will also feature a comparison and critique of other conceptions of women’s rights in Western tradition (e.g. feminisms). However, it is also intended to be accessible to a wide audience with practical use for actually advocating and implementing the rights Islam gives for women.

I hope that this can be a regular reference for as many of you as possible and that this helps in bringing Muslim men and women of different persuasions back to the same side of the table, united by the shared vision and guidance revealed to us by the Creator.

I’m hoping to bring you something of good quality and depth of research at the time which Allah swt has appointed. Please continue to make dua for me and the success of this project – by name if you would be so kind!
